Caudalie Instant Foaming Cleanser

You KNOW how I feel about foaming cleansers - I don't use them. Or at least most of them, as they contain SLS or forms of it and it's an ingredient I don't like. It's harsh, cheap and can be irritating. I'm even starting to move away from it in shampoos, as it seems like it's further irritating my scalp issues. For the last month I've been using my Rose and Geranium soap from Simply Soaps that is SLS and artificial ingredients free and I'm noticing a reduction in itchiness and discomfort. If you have a similar problem, check out my review here

So you may be surpsied that this cleanser has made it to the blog, the name considered. However, this is not your typical foaming cleanser and it is SLS free - so I was happy enough to have received it in Aprils Prescription Lab box.

I'm not a regular Caudalie user, I've had a couple of products in the past and I like them well enough but I often lean towards brands that have more active ingredients and although Caudalie products are lovely, I just don't reach them when I'm out shopping.

The packaging on this one is what I like - it's simple and functional. The lid shuts well and the pump works perfectly. As it says on the description, you do not need to shake it before use - it will foam by itself.

It's a very light and silky mousse, and sorry for the sickly metaphor but it's like smushing a cloud into your face😂 It is not a make-up removing cleanser, it's a skin cleanser. I did have a go at removing make-up with it but didn't get far - that's OK, it's not marketed that way. Once it's in your hands you can smooth it over the face and neck - it has a gorgeous slip and feels extremely lightweight on the skin. It makes for a lovely second cleanse (as long as you have removed all of your make-up with your first cleanse - it will not get rid of leftover eyeliner/mascara etc.) I've been most drawn to it as a morning cleanse just because of the light texture and light scent - I don't like heavily scented cleansers in the morning - I'm not in the least a morning person, and any smell apart from coffee just makes me gag...!

It's paraben, sulphate and SLS free and I would say is suited to all skins - except if you have extremely problem/sensitive skin in which case there is not one product I would recommend to you because I am not a dermatologist. When I use it my skin feels clean without feeling squeaky, and the instant foam is kind of a novelty. It contains red grape extract (antioxidant), sage extract (toning and softening) and camomile extract (calming).

As much as I now don't like or use SLS cleansers, in the past I used to - and I loved them. The feeling of a foam on the skin gives you the feeling that you're really cleansing the skin, so this cleanser gives that feeling without the SLS.

I've seen that it retails for $25 in Sephora US, but a quick search online shows that it can be bought for under €10 in France. In pharmacies I believe it costs €19 for 150ml - I've been using mine since the start of April, not every day and night but frequently. You only need one pump and I still have maybe half left (it's hard to tell because of the packaging, I don't mind but some may find that a drawback) so it does last a while.

Would I buy it again? It's definitely possible. I enjoy the packaging, light fragrance and cleanser itself - it's exactly what you need first thing in the morning. I'll do an update on IG stories when it's finished and let you know for sure!

Have you tried this or anything else from Caudalie?

Have a great week all,
A x

CloudCloth® - Sustainable, Recyclable Beauty

Hi Everyone! Let's talk cleansing cloths. In my book, cleansing cloths and flannels are a must-have. I know that a lot of people prefer to splash off their cleansers, I have tried this but for me cleansing revolves around a flannel, AM and PM. Aswell as ensuring that your skin is free of residual cleanser before you start into your routine, you can use your flannel to give your skin a light exfoliation - I would recommend using cotton for this, to be as gentle to your skin as possible These were kindly sent to me for review by CloudCloth®, and I've been using them for the last few weeks so I feel like I'm ready to give you my thoughts. Let me first give you some information about the company. CloudCloth® is based in the UK and was set up in 2017, in Manchester. Their ethos revolves around encouraging people to switch to reuseable and recyclable cleansing tools. From the site 'As a Brand, we want to give something back. We are supportive of our community of c

Alpha H Daily Essential Vitamin Mist

I love a good mist. I'm obsessed with anything skincare-related in mist form, especially toners and my @klytiaparis Voile Lacte Moisturiser (reviewed here ). So I was seriously excited to try Alpha H's mist offering, I'm now on my second bottle so can tell you my thoughts! If you don't know of Alpha H you should - and here is a quick run-down. It's an Australian skincare brand founded by Michelle Doherty and has been around for over two decades. Their star product is undoubtedly their Liquid Gold Glycolic Acid toner, which I am a huge fan of and have been using for over a year with stellar results - if you are dry/dehydrated and have issues with texture or redness this could be a skin saver for you. Everyone needs an acid toner in their life and this is by far my favourite (I've tried Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner reviewed here and Pixi's Glow Tonic which, quite honestly, did nothing for me). Back to the mist! The packaging is quinte

Ciara Daly - My Hero Brush Review

If you read this blog, or follow me on IG or Twitter you know that skin is my thing. From skincare to base products, for me how my skin looks is the most important. If I had to choose between amazing eye make-up, gorgeous glossy lips, IG worthy brows or a perfect base I'm picking the latter. When it comes to make-up I prefer a natural, light to medium luminous base. I'm not a huge fan of matte foundations, never have been. I don't like to look like I'm wearing tonnes of base make-up although obviously for a night out or an event I would go for a fuller base. I've tried the @hudabeauty Faux Filter and love it - it's full coverage with a natural, slightly luminous finish and is on my to buy list. But for every day I usually go for for something like my beloved Ponds BB Cream (which I have to get sent to me from abroad as it isn't available in Europe😠) either on it's own or mixed with something like Max Factor Lasting Performance or Vichy Teint Ideal to
