Prescription Lab Mon Rouge Nuit§Jour Lip Crayon in Framboise

This is the first product review from my Prescription Lab box that I received last week. As it's a lip product and I have used it a couple of times I feel happy reviewing it, I tend to to form opinions on lip products almost immediately!

This is a beautiful berry-hued lip crayon, and I'll say it here - I'm not a huge fan of lip crayons, I never really buy them and generally just plump for lipsticks. I always feel like you get more bang for your buck with a lipstick, prefer the packaging and find that some lip crayons can feel waxy on the lips.

The packaging is sleek and black with white text and the colour on the top of the lid, which closes tightly. Sleek, French. The product twists up and down easily and you get 18ml.

I wasn't overwhelmed when I received this and threw it in my make-up bag, but I took it out a couple of days ago as I wanted a deeper lip colour and so much of my make-up is 45 mins away in storage😠

VERY pleasant surprise!
I wasn't expecting much as usually with subscription box own-brands the products are cheap and unimpressive, but this has bowled me over - it's soft, opaque, comfortable to wear and long-lasting in that it leaves a flattering stain.
The finish is almost matte - it mimics the natural finish of your lips but with a gorgeous colour. Like everyone I went through the matte liquid lipstick phase but I've all but given up and don't see myself buying any more in the near future. I own a couple from Colourpop and Huda Beauty and honestly there isn't much of a difference between them - liquid lipsticks just make my lips feel dry, flaky and uncomfortable. My lips are just naturally dry and I always have something on them to stop me from biting them - either a gloss, lipstick or balm. I sleep with Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour on my bedside table and apply liberally until I fall asleep otherwise I wake up with dry, bitten lips.

This is truly a one-swipe for full colour product. It doesn't tug at your lips and glides on effortlessly, and you can apply more coats for a deeper colour. Of course you can wear a lip liner with this, but I haven't felt the need to - it doesn't bleed. I've been slightly overdrawing my lips and it looks great, the tip is fine enough that it's a precise application - I use it to line my lips first and then fill it in.

Seeing as this is a matte finish if you're like me you may feel slight dryness - but this is to be expected of any matte lip product, and this is by far one of the more comfortable matte formulas that I've tried. You don't need much for intense colour so there is no build-up, gathering at the edges of your mouth or cracking that can be common with liquid formulas (or 'butt-hole mouth' as I call it😂😱). I've put this on and eaten an hour later and found that it left a really nice stain - it fades but in a natural, flattering way - no patchiness. I've popped a bit of 8 Hour or a balm on top to give a bit of shine, and you can also top it off with a gloss. You also don't feel it on your lips, it feels like they're bare but in a comfortable way, so if you're someone who doesn't like the 'feel' of lip products this will be right up your street.

As far as I can see on Prescription Labs site, there are only two shades of this crayon - the other is a lighter pink colour and suffice to say I want it!

These cost €16 and you know what? I'd pay that. Sure you can find cheaper lip crayons, but I would be happy to pay that for this quality, and also to support a smaller French brand who I feel are doing a great job. I've swatched the Chanel lip crayons in Sephora and for €25 I was not impressed, the packaging felt cheap and the formula wasn't at all worth the price, they were just...meh. I felt as though I was swatching a drugstore product disguised in high-end packaging. I love you Chanel, but do better.

So, huge thumbs up on this one, I've said it before and I'll say it again - good work @prescriptionlab!

CloudCloth® - Sustainable, Recyclable Beauty

Hi Everyone! Let's talk cleansing cloths. In my book, cleansing cloths and flannels are a must-have. I know that a lot of people prefer to splash off their cleansers, I have tried this but for me cleansing revolves around a flannel, AM and PM. Aswell as ensuring that your skin is free of residual cleanser before you start into your routine, you can use your flannel to give your skin a light exfoliation - I would recommend using cotton for this, to be as gentle to your skin as possible These were kindly sent to me for review by CloudCloth®, and I've been using them for the last few weeks so I feel like I'm ready to give you my thoughts. Let me first give you some information about the company. CloudCloth® is based in the UK and was set up in 2017, in Manchester. Their ethos revolves around encouraging people to switch to reuseable and recyclable cleansing tools. From the site 'As a Brand, we want to give something back. We are supportive of our community of c...

Alpha H Daily Essential Vitamin Mist

I love a good mist. I'm obsessed with anything skincare-related in mist form, especially toners and my @klytiaparis Voile Lacte Moisturiser (reviewed here ). So I was seriously excited to try Alpha H's mist offering, I'm now on my second bottle so can tell you my thoughts! If you don't know of Alpha H you should - and here is a quick run-down. It's an Australian skincare brand founded by Michelle Doherty and has been around for over two decades. Their star product is undoubtedly their Liquid Gold Glycolic Acid toner, which I am a huge fan of and have been using for over a year with stellar results - if you are dry/dehydrated and have issues with texture or redness this could be a skin saver for you. Everyone needs an acid toner in their life and this is by far my favourite (I've tried Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner reviewed here and Pixi's Glow Tonic which, quite honestly, did nothing for me). Back to the mist! The packaging is quinte...

New CID Cosmetics i-glow Shimmer Powders in Coral Crush and Sirocco

If you watch my Instagram stories you know that I originally ordered Coral Crush after I had seen Caroline Hirons say how much she loved it on her stories. After having Coral Crush for a few weeks I picked up another I-glow in Sirocco, the brush that is designed for use with them and a cream eyeshadow. In this post I'll review the two I-glows. On the  New CID Cosmetics website the I-glows are described as ' an innovative and luxurious formula of  baked pigments...to bring a radiance to the skin for a lit from within look ' Coral Crush Described as a ' luminous peachy coral blush with soft gold sparkle suitable for all skin types '. This is a really stunning product, both visually and on the skin. It comes housed in a sturdy white compact with an inside mirror. Although the compact is really pretty and chic, white probably isn't the best colour for it - mine is already covered in fingerprints...! Not a huge issue, but I'm a bit of a neat freak when it...
