Essence and Rimmel - 4 Budget Lipsticks I've been Loving

Everyone loves a bargain, and I'm no exception. I will admit, however, that I'm a little bit bougee - give me a Tom Ford or NARS lipstick and I'm a happy girl.
Sadly, my bank account isn't always so happy so I've had to search out some budget options to satisfy my lipstick obsession😅

Essence Ultralast Instant Colour 11 and 16, €2.89
If you don't have any of these bad boys in your collection, make it your business to get some! Essence is a seriously budget brand that offers a wide range of make-up at a seriously low price - these lipsticks are less than €3. I picked both of these up when I was at home in Ireland a couple of weeks ago and love both. The formula is creamy, one-swipe for full colour. They are seriously comfortable and light-weight on the lips - I dislike heavy, sticky lipstick formulas. The finish is somewhere between a matte and a satin, the lasting power is decent and they leave a slight stain which I like - I always get a couple of hours out of them before I reapply, although this is pretty much the case with all lipsticks on me. I don't really like matte liquid formulas as I find them drying, and as long as I get at least an hours wear out of a lipstick I'm happy. They also fade nicely, and you don't end up with patchy lips. You can of course wear a lip liner with them, but I don't feel the need to. The packaging is very light plastic, but what can you expect for this price?! The lid does a little click when you close it and I haven't had any problems with it. For me the formula of these is king and I bloody love them. My only regret is not buying more when I was home - Essence is hard to find in Paris, and although a supermarket near me has an Essence stand it's always empty😠

16 is a deep dusky pink that goes with everything - if you are someone who likes a deep pink lip I highly recommend it, it's one of those shades that you pop on when you don't have the time or inclination to put any thought into your lipstick, it's pretty much universally flattering.

11 is a vibrant berry colour - it's lovely for this time of year, and a good staple day/night colour to have in your collection.

Rimmel X Kate Moss Lasting Finish lipsticks, Rock'n'Roll Nude and Boho Nude, €7
@nadinebaggot raved about this line of lipsticks in one of her drugstore favourite or high-end dupes videos, I think she recommended them as a good alternative to the rather pricey Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks. Although there is a large shade range, I was specifically interested in the nudes - I love a nude lipstick and it's been a while since I've worn nude shades due to the time of year, I'm quite pale and nudes make me look like the Corpse Bride unless I'm a little tanned and wearing some bronzer. I couldn't get my hands on them in any pharmacies at home, but spotted that there were a few left in Tesco - these two were the only ones that hadn't been opened and swatched (note - I hate people who do this. There is a tester. F#cking use it. If not, use of the ones that is inevitably open and not a new one). These are quite lovely formulas - I find that nude formulas are trickier than full colour, so even though they are creamy and comfortable I recommend a lipliner - I've been using Charlotte Tilbury Pillowtalk which is the best lipliner in the world, in my opinion. If you wear these alone they will slightly accentuate the fine lines in your lips and fade faster, although again I find that to be common with very pale nudes. They are a a nice finish, a slightly glossy satin and are very comfortable to wear. The lasting power is fine, I get about two hours before I need to reapply. As they are nude they don't leave a stain. They have a scent, which is a kind of floral/vanilla smell - I'm not a huge fan of it but once they're on the lips I can't smell it. Packaging has a lovely metallic finish, and is very light - again, I don't expect Tom Ford level packaging for this price.

Boho Nude is a peachy, caramel-toned nude. Honestly, the colour is on the edge for me - I can just about pull it off and only with a nice bronzer😅 I love it though, I wouldn't say it's a dupe for one of Charlotte Tilburys most famous nude shades, Kim KW which I also own, it's darker. It is however, quite gorgeous. Personally I don't care if people think it suits me or not, I love it😅

Boho Nude

Rock'n'Roll Nude is a gorgeous peachy pink nude. This probably suits my pale pink-undertones a bit better, but again only if I apply bronzer liberally - otherwise it's Corpse Bride territory. I've worn this alone or on top of Boho Nude to give it more pink, and it's gorgeous.

Rock'N'Roll Nude

Despite the fact that it's still bloody freezing in Paris, I'm really loving these two shades. There's something about wearing loads of bronzer and a nude lip that makes you feel like Spring might show up one of these days😁💛

Rocn'N'Roll Nude (Top) Boho Nude (Bottom)

The price of the 4 of these lipsticks comes to under €20, which is a fraction of a Tom and not enough for a NARS or Charlotte Tilbury, so if you're on the hunt for some new lipsticks but don't want to spend a fortune check out Essence and Rimmels offerings - I don't think you'll be disappointed!

What are your favourite budget lipsticks?

Thanks for reading😘

CloudCloth® - Sustainable, Recyclable Beauty

Hi Everyone! Let's talk cleansing cloths. In my book, cleansing cloths and flannels are a must-have. I know that a lot of people prefer to splash off their cleansers, I have tried this but for me cleansing revolves around a flannel, AM and PM. Aswell as ensuring that your skin is free of residual cleanser before you start into your routine, you can use your flannel to give your skin a light exfoliation - I would recommend using cotton for this, to be as gentle to your skin as possible These were kindly sent to me for review by CloudCloth®, and I've been using them for the last few weeks so I feel like I'm ready to give you my thoughts. Let me first give you some information about the company. CloudCloth® is based in the UK and was set up in 2017, in Manchester. Their ethos revolves around encouraging people to switch to reuseable and recyclable cleansing tools. From the site 'As a Brand, we want to give something back. We are supportive of our community of c...

Alpha H Daily Essential Vitamin Mist

I love a good mist. I'm obsessed with anything skincare-related in mist form, especially toners and my @klytiaparis Voile Lacte Moisturiser (reviewed here ). So I was seriously excited to try Alpha H's mist offering, I'm now on my second bottle so can tell you my thoughts! If you don't know of Alpha H you should - and here is a quick run-down. It's an Australian skincare brand founded by Michelle Doherty and has been around for over two decades. Their star product is undoubtedly their Liquid Gold Glycolic Acid toner, which I am a huge fan of and have been using for over a year with stellar results - if you are dry/dehydrated and have issues with texture or redness this could be a skin saver for you. Everyone needs an acid toner in their life and this is by far my favourite (I've tried Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner reviewed here and Pixi's Glow Tonic which, quite honestly, did nothing for me). Back to the mist! The packaging is quinte...

New CID Cosmetics i-glow Shimmer Powders in Coral Crush and Sirocco

If you watch my Instagram stories you know that I originally ordered Coral Crush after I had seen Caroline Hirons say how much she loved it on her stories. After having Coral Crush for a few weeks I picked up another I-glow in Sirocco, the brush that is designed for use with them and a cream eyeshadow. In this post I'll review the two I-glows. On the  New CID Cosmetics website the I-glows are described as ' an innovative and luxurious formula of  baked pigments...to bring a radiance to the skin for a lit from within look ' Coral Crush Described as a ' luminous peachy coral blush with soft gold sparkle suitable for all skin types '. This is a really stunning product, both visually and on the skin. It comes housed in a sturdy white compact with an inside mirror. Although the compact is really pretty and chic, white probably isn't the best colour for it - mine is already covered in fingerprints...! Not a huge issue, but I'm a bit of a neat freak when it...
