Sarah Chapman Skinesis Overnight Facial

This is the second product that came in the Skinesis Merry and Bright Cracker, I've reviewed the first product, the Intense Hydrating Booster, here if you're interested😀

Overnight Facial

This is an overnight treatment that contains Vitamin A (natural retinol), a stabilised form of Vitamin C (brightening), oils such as Melon and Baobob, and Coenzyme Q10 (an antioxidant and protector against free radicals - essentially it's a barrier between your skin and the world). It claims to reproduce the effects of the famous 'Skinesis' facial at home.

From the description:

'Recreates the effects of a Skinesis facial overnight, leaving skin plump, smooth and rejuvenated with our signature Skinesis glow. Lines and uneven textures are smoothed, skin is brighter, firmer and more radiant, giving instant results to flat, dull and unbalanced skin.'

The packaging is the same as the Instant Hydrating Booster - grey, sleek and stylish. The airless pump which allows you to dispense the product without exposing it to the air is also the same. I really enjoy the packaging of Skinesis products, as I mentioned in my post on How I think the Beauty Industry is changing I prefer practical, functional packaging that is suited to travel rather than heavy glass jars and gold lids that leave you scooping out the product with your fingers, getting it everywhere and exposing it to the air.

I've had this for about a month, and I have been using it a couple of times a week, or when I feel like my skin needs a pick me up. It's slightly more viscous than the Hydrating Booster which is quite watery in texture, and has a stronger (but very lovely) scent. It's the kind of scent that I associate with high-end botanical skincare, such as Emma Hardie products, rather than the cloying perfumed scents of some luxury brands looking at you Guerlain. I can't find any mention of perfume as an ingredient.
It's yellow in colour, feels ever so slightly oily and has a gorgeous slip to it that makes it perfect for a facial massage - in fact, it's recommended that you use Skinesis massage techniques with this product. I've found a video on YT of Sarah Chapman herself demonstrating the technique and linked it here. Personally I love doing a facial massage, and with a gorgeous product like this it's a treat.

As the name suggests, this is an overnight treatment. I've been cleansing, toning and then applying it, followed by an extra moisturizer if I'm feeling dehydrated - although I have used it without an extra layer and I haven't felt dry - it feels extremely nourishing and hydrating.

The product couldn't have a better name, it really couldn't...! It really is like having a facial while you're sleeping. I've used it on nights when my skin is feeling a bit parched and dull due to central heating, lack of sunlight and general fatigue and when I wake up the next morning I'm bright, soft and smooth. I don't believe in miracle products, but if they existed then this would be pretty close. My favourite night-time routine as of late is cleansing with my Emma Hardie Moringa Balm, toning with Alpha H Liquid Rose Gold, spritzing with their Daily Essential Mist, adding Skinesis Hydrating Booster and Overnight Facial and finishing off with a layer of Emma Hardie Age Support Mask. I did this last night, actually, and woke up this morning looking and feeling like a new woman. I'm one of those people whose day is defined by how I feel in the morning, and how my skin looks the first time I see myself in the mirror is part of that. As I see it, even if the whole day goes to hell in a handcart and is completely beyond my ability to control, if I can at least excercise some control over how my skin looks I'll be OK. It might sound silly but it's the small things in life that keep us all sane and functional😅

The Dream Team💕

I love this treatment, I really do. It's hydrating, nourishing, brightening gorgeousness. Two pumps is enough for me to cover my face and bring it down my neck a little, so even though it comes in a 15ml container it should last you some time. If you're someone like me who occasionally wakes up with skin that refuses to be grateful for all the work and money you put into it, then this serum will be your friend. I wouldn't say it's something I would use every night, but just a couple of times a week to combat tired, dull skin.

I've really been enjoying both of these Skinesis products. It's a brand I've had my eye on for a while and I'm delighted that I finally got to try two of the products, and two great ones at that. If you're in the market for a gorgous overnight treatment that will give you smooth, hydrated and glowing skin I highly recommend trying Overnight Facial. Two other products that I'm dying to get my hands on are the Ultimate Cleanse balm (recommended to me as the best cleansing balm/oil ever by the knowledgeable and VERY funny @skintrovert - check out his page and blog!) and the Rapid Radiance Cleanse, which is infused with Vit C. As an utter cleanser addict, I'm mad to try both of them...!

Overnight Facial is available from the Sarah Chapman website for £49 (here) and from Feelunique.fr for €62.50 (here).

Let me know if you have or have tried anything from Skinesis!

CloudCloth® - Sustainable, Recyclable Beauty

Hi Everyone! Let's talk cleansing cloths. In my book, cleansing cloths and flannels are a must-have. I know that a lot of people prefer to splash off their cleansers, I have tried this but for me cleansing revolves around a flannel, AM and PM. Aswell as ensuring that your skin is free of residual cleanser before you start into your routine, you can use your flannel to give your skin a light exfoliation - I would recommend using cotton for this, to be as gentle to your skin as possible These were kindly sent to me for review by CloudCloth®, and I've been using them for the last few weeks so I feel like I'm ready to give you my thoughts. Let me first give you some information about the company. CloudCloth® is based in the UK and was set up in 2017, in Manchester. Their ethos revolves around encouraging people to switch to reuseable and recyclable cleansing tools. From the site 'As a Brand, we want to give something back. We are supportive of our community of c

Alpha H Daily Essential Vitamin Mist

I love a good mist. I'm obsessed with anything skincare-related in mist form, especially toners and my @klytiaparis Voile Lacte Moisturiser (reviewed here ). So I was seriously excited to try Alpha H's mist offering, I'm now on my second bottle so can tell you my thoughts! If you don't know of Alpha H you should - and here is a quick run-down. It's an Australian skincare brand founded by Michelle Doherty and has been around for over two decades. Their star product is undoubtedly their Liquid Gold Glycolic Acid toner, which I am a huge fan of and have been using for over a year with stellar results - if you are dry/dehydrated and have issues with texture or redness this could be a skin saver for you. Everyone needs an acid toner in their life and this is by far my favourite (I've tried Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner reviewed here and Pixi's Glow Tonic which, quite honestly, did nothing for me). Back to the mist! The packaging is quinte

Ciara Daly - My Hero Brush Review

If you read this blog, or follow me on IG or Twitter you know that skin is my thing. From skincare to base products, for me how my skin looks is the most important. If I had to choose between amazing eye make-up, gorgeous glossy lips, IG worthy brows or a perfect base I'm picking the latter. When it comes to make-up I prefer a natural, light to medium luminous base. I'm not a huge fan of matte foundations, never have been. I don't like to look like I'm wearing tonnes of base make-up although obviously for a night out or an event I would go for a fuller base. I've tried the @hudabeauty Faux Filter and love it - it's full coverage with a natural, slightly luminous finish and is on my to buy list. But for every day I usually go for for something like my beloved Ponds BB Cream (which I have to get sent to me from abroad as it isn't available in Europe😠) either on it's own or mixed with something like Max Factor Lasting Performance or Vichy Teint Ideal to
