Essence Cosmetics Mini Haul Review Part 1

So when I was in Ireland at the beginning of the month I picked up some bits and pieces from Essence Cosmetics in one of the local pharmacies. If you read my post on Budget Lipsticks here you know that I'm a long time fan of Essence lipsticks, although it's been years since I've used any of their make-up as I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to drugstore powders/eyeshadows etcšŸ˜‚   But I've heard and seen so many positive reviews on their products (not all positive, but enough to make me interested) that I decided I'd give them a go. I've been using these bits for around a month so I'm ready to run through them and tell you what I think. Prices may not be 100% exact, as I can't find my receipt and they vary online - but they are very close. I've had to break this into two parts otherwise it would be too long! Metal Shock Eye Shadow 03 Galaxy Rocks, €4.90 I believe this comes in 7 shades and my only problem is that I didn't buy them all.

Alpha H Daily Essential Vitamin Mist

I love a good mist. I'm obsessed with anything skincare-related in mist form, especially toners and my @klytiaparis Voile Lacte Moisturiser (reviewed here ). So I was seriously excited to try Alpha H's mist offering, I'm now on my second bottle so can tell you my thoughts! If you don't know of Alpha H you should - and here is a quick run-down. It's an Australian skincare brand founded by Michelle Doherty and has been around for over two decades. Their star product is undoubtedly their Liquid Gold Glycolic Acid toner, which I am a huge fan of and have been using for over a year with stellar results - if you are dry/dehydrated and have issues with texture or redness this could be a skin saver for you. Everyone needs an acid toner in their life and this is by far my favourite (I've tried Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner reviewed here and Pixi's Glow Tonic which, quite honestly, did nothing for me). Back to the mist! The packaging is quinte

Essence and Rimmel - 4 Budget Lipsticks I've been Loving

Everyone loves a bargain, and I'm no exception. I will admit, however, that I'm a little bit bougee - give me a Tom Ford or NARS lipstick and I'm a happy girl. Sadly, my bank account isn't always so happy so I've had to search out some budget options to satisfy my lipstick obsessionšŸ˜… Essence Ultralast Instant Colour 11 and 16, €2.89 If you don't have any of these bad boys in your collection, make it your business to get some! Essence is a seriously budget brand that offers a wide range of make-up at a seriously low price - these lipsticks are less than €3. I picked both of these up when I was at home in Ireland a couple of weeks ago and love both. The formula is creamy, one-swipe for full colour. They are seriously comfortable and light-weight on the lips - I dislike heavy, sticky lipstick formulas. The finish is somewhere between a matte and a satin, the lasting power is decent and they leave a slight stain which I like - I always get a couple of hours

All about concealing

Hi Everyone! I was recently asked if I'd do a post on concealers so here we go. I have three on rotation - one is gorgeous and I see myself repurchasing despite the price, one is a budget concealer that is affordable and effective, and one is a 'cult product' that I definitely won't buy again, and honestly regret purchasing in the first placešŸ˜ . About concealers - I honestly didn't really use or need them much until last year. I've been lucky in having pretty good skin and never suffered from dark circles, so foundation used to be enough. Your skin changes as you get older and for me the most dramatic change I've seen has been around my eyes - I'll be 30 in a couple of months and I now have some fine lines and often wake up with dark hollows under my eyes. Whereas before I could get away with a full face of make-up and no under-eye concealer, I now have days where I simply can't. As far as blemishes go I now get the odd spot, and a conceale

Prescription Lab Mon Rouge Nuit§Jour Lip Crayon in Framboise

This is the first product review from my Prescription Lab box that I received last week. As it's a lip product and I have used it a couple of times I feel happy reviewing it, I tend to to form opinions on lip products almost immediately! This is a beautiful berry-hued lip crayon, and I'll say it here - I'm not a huge fan of lip crayons, I never really buy them and generally just plump for lipsticks. I always feel like you get more bang for your buck with a lipstick, prefer the packaging and find that some lip crayons can feel waxy on the lips. The packaging is sleek and black with white text and the colour on the top of the lid, which closes tightly. Sleek, French. The product twists up and down easily and you get 18ml. I wasn't overwhelmed when I received this and threw it in my make-up bag, but I took it out a couple of days ago as I wanted a deeper lip colour and so much of my make-up is 45 mins away in storagešŸ˜  VERY pleasant surprise! I wasn't expe

Soap § Glory Face Soap and Clarity 3-in-1 Daily Vitamin C Facial Wash/L'Oreal Fine Flowers Cleansing Cream

OK, so unplanned morning post on this cleanser I received for Christmas. I had packed this away for use after the move but broke it out a couple of days ago as I wanted a lighter gel-type cleanser for mornings. The bottle proudly proclaims that 'this isn't a soap!' but honestly...it may as well be. So. The texture is nice in theory - gel-like with small microbeads. I have no idea what's in the microbeads, but they are tough. As in they don't burst when massaged into skin and when I've taken some in my hand I've had to crack one open with a nail. The smell is...soap. It literally smells like handsoap, the cheap kind you get in public bathrooms. You get 350ml of product, which is a lot - I would love if I could get this much of my favourite cleansers every time. I do like the packaging - its's a sturdy bottle with a pop open lid which allows you to get out as much product as you need without getting your hands in it. Typical of S§G, it's prett

Prescription Lab 'A la Francaise' February Box

Hi Everyone! This is a really quick post just to show you what I got in the post this morning - my first monthly box from @Prescriptionlab . It has been a loooooong minute since I signed up for a monthly beauty box - having tried Glossybox, Birchbox and many more I just went off them - the products weren't worth it and I felt like I would be better off saving my cash for products I actually wanted. However, after coming across Prescription Lab on Instagram I decided to give them a try. Prescription Lab are based in France, but I believe they also deliver to Monaco. For €19.60 a month (shipping is free) you get a box containing their monthly magazine, and a couple of products - one of which always seems to be full-sized. Although they have their own products (I've heard very good things about their matcha cleansing balm) they also include other brands in the monthly box. You can sign up to the site for free and once you're subscribed, you can choose whether to pay monthl
