Prescription Lab March Box

This is my second monthly sub box from @prescriptionlab, and I like it even more than the first which impressed me immensly!

This months box was a collab with @AudreyLombard who is a well-known Paris-based fashion blogger with a penchant for skincare. As well as designing the bag that replaced the regular box the products come in, she chose two brands to be included in the box - Darphin, a famous Parisian skincare brand, and Jowae, a relatively new French-Korean brand. When you sign up for the monthly box you do a skin-profile and Prescription Lab try to tailor your box to your skin type as much as possible - there were a couple of products from each brand on offer and I'm going to show you the two that I received.

Jowae Balancing Mattifying Fluid, 40ml RRP €13

I have to say, I was hoping for the Protective Moisturizing Balm which was one of the Jowae products on offer - my skin-type is dry and this would have suited me better. The Mattifying Fluid however, is a nice, light and easily absorbed day cream. I was afraid it would make my dry skin feel tight and uncomfortable like some mattifying products I've tried, but after using it twice I rather like it. It gives a lovely, smooth base for make-up and sinks into the skin straight away leaving you feeling refreshed and ready for base products rather than tight and mattified. I will continue to use it and probably do a full review. I'm also intrigued by this brand as I had never heard of them before - I adore Korean skincare but find it difficult to get hold of without paying exorbitant shipping fees so having a Korean-inspired brand based in France that boasts very decent prices and free shipping from €30 is a huge plus - this is definitely a brand I want to explore more! You can find their website here at jowae.fr

Darphin Hydrating Kiwi Mask, 75ml RRP €34.90

A Parisien skincare brand created in 1958 by Pierre Darphin with a focus on botanical ingredients, Darphin are well-known and loved for both their skincare and bodycare. As Pierre Darphin himself said 'A womans' skin is a mirror reflecting her life', and he was probably right.
I don't get massively excited by hydrating masks, to be completely honest - I get more of a buzz from radiance masks, exfoliating masks or acid-based masks. I put this on the day after St. Patricks Day in an effort to revitalize my tired, hungover skin and I was pretty impressed by the result - it does hydrate and soften. I will continue to use it and you can expect a full review soon!

Audrey Lombard X Prescription Lab leopard print cosmetics bag
I'm a cosmetics bag lover, I love pretty pieces to store my products in either for travel or inside drawers so I can find things easily (if you have seen my posts on Instagram of my new bathroom drawers you know this is no mean feat considering the sheer amount of products I have amassed😂). My pet hates with a lot of cosmetics bags that I've received as a free gift or in sub boxes is the size and quality - it doesn't need to be an expensive material or the same quality as my Victorias Secrets bags, but a miniscule bag that would only fit a gloss and compact with a flimsy zip that breaks in a week and cheap, tacky material? Not cool (looking at you, Alpha H - your Christmas Rose Gold Collection bag is a horror - it's basically made from cardboard).
This bag is nice. Firstly - it's a great size, big enough for all my skincare basics. Secondly - it's made out of pretty durable cloth and the zip doesn't feel like it will fall off if I look at it sideways. And then the bonus - they made it machine washable👐👐 THANKYOU PRESCRIPTION LAB AND AUDREY LOMBARD. The worst thing about most cosmetics cases is trying to clean them out when your cleanser/compact inevitably explodes. So yeah, this bag is gorgeous - love it.

Prescription Lab Fleur D'Oranger § Calendula Shower Gel, 200ml RRP €13 (€10.40 for members)
Every months box comes with a Prescription Lab own product, and this months was a shower gel. I haven't used it yet but I like the smell - a lot of people seem to hate both fleur d'oranger and calendula so I guess I've been lucky😀

Le Prescripteur, Prescription Labs Monthly Magazine
I haven't had time to fully read this yet but it features a nice interview with Audrey herself, a run-down of all the products on offer, some gorgeous photography and other bits on fashion and culture - a step above most of the free leaflets/magazines you get with a lot of sub boxes.

Verdict - another impressive box from Prescription Lab, already I'm excited for next months box which from the clues being offered on their IG has a focus on natural beauty and includes a full-size product from Caudalie. As usual this months box cost €19.60 (shipping is included). The value of this months box came to over €60, not counting the cosmetics bag - I would expect to pay about €15 for a bag of this type in a shop so let's round it off to a very comfortable €75. If that's not a bargain, then I don't know what is!
I'm still extremely impressed with what Prescription Lab are doing, the fact that you seem to get at least two full-sized products in each months box, coupled with the fact that they collab with well-known brands is astounding when you look at the rubbish being trotted out by some other well-known sub boxes - their subscription has, so far, been absolutely worth the price of less than €20 and I can't wait to see what they do next.
If you are in France, Monaco or Corsica go and have a look at their site, I highly recommend giving them a go - I don't think you'll regret it!

Have a great week everyone!

CloudCloth® - Sustainable, Recyclable Beauty

Hi Everyone! Let's talk cleansing cloths. In my book, cleansing cloths and flannels are a must-have. I know that a lot of people prefer to splash off their cleansers, I have tried this but for me cleansing revolves around a flannel, AM and PM. Aswell as ensuring that your skin is free of residual cleanser before you start into your routine, you can use your flannel to give your skin a light exfoliation - I would recommend using cotton for this, to be as gentle to your skin as possible These were kindly sent to me for review by CloudCloth®, and I've been using them for the last few weeks so I feel like I'm ready to give you my thoughts. Let me first give you some information about the company. CloudCloth® is based in the UK and was set up in 2017, in Manchester. Their ethos revolves around encouraging people to switch to reuseable and recyclable cleansing tools. From the site 'As a Brand, we want to give something back. We are supportive of our community of c

Alpha H Daily Essential Vitamin Mist

I love a good mist. I'm obsessed with anything skincare-related in mist form, especially toners and my @klytiaparis Voile Lacte Moisturiser (reviewed here ). So I was seriously excited to try Alpha H's mist offering, I'm now on my second bottle so can tell you my thoughts! If you don't know of Alpha H you should - and here is a quick run-down. It's an Australian skincare brand founded by Michelle Doherty and has been around for over two decades. Their star product is undoubtedly their Liquid Gold Glycolic Acid toner, which I am a huge fan of and have been using for over a year with stellar results - if you are dry/dehydrated and have issues with texture or redness this could be a skin saver for you. Everyone needs an acid toner in their life and this is by far my favourite (I've tried Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner reviewed here and Pixi's Glow Tonic which, quite honestly, did nothing for me). Back to the mist! The packaging is quinte

Ciara Daly - My Hero Brush Review

If you read this blog, or follow me on IG or Twitter you know that skin is my thing. From skincare to base products, for me how my skin looks is the most important. If I had to choose between amazing eye make-up, gorgeous glossy lips, IG worthy brows or a perfect base I'm picking the latter. When it comes to make-up I prefer a natural, light to medium luminous base. I'm not a huge fan of matte foundations, never have been. I don't like to look like I'm wearing tonnes of base make-up although obviously for a night out or an event I would go for a fuller base. I've tried the @hudabeauty Faux Filter and love it - it's full coverage with a natural, slightly luminous finish and is on my to buy list. But for every day I usually go for for something like my beloved Ponds BB Cream (which I have to get sent to me from abroad as it isn't available in Europe😠) either on it's own or mixed with something like Max Factor Lasting Performance or Vichy Teint Ideal to
