Essence Cosmetics Mini Haul Review Part 2

And I'm back! I have three more products from Essence to talk about - eyeshadow, nail polish and a setting spray. If you're interested in seeing what I spoke about in Part One (and if you love a glittery eyeshadow or a cheap bronzer you should take a look!) click here. As I said in Part One, the prices aren't exact but they are very close (and very low!).

My Must Haves Single Eyeshadows in Mauvie-Time § Peach-Party, less than €2
I picked these up because of the price, I had to try them. They swatched decently well, better than most of the MakeUp Revolution shadows I swatched in the same pharmacy. Mauvie-Time is a medium mauve, it's a lovely crease/transition colour. Peach-Party is a shimmery, peachy gold. I prefer Mauvie-Time, as a matte it performs much better than the shimmer which is...meh. I like full on sparkle explosions on my lids so this doesn't really cut it for me. If you like a muted shimmer on the lids you may like this, or it's quite nice as an inner highlight. But this is actually a nice cheekbone highlighter if you're bronzed and wearing some tan. It's going to be way too dark for very pale skin but a light dusting of this over your bronzer is really lovely, and I've also used it over the top of a brown-toned/peach-toned blusher. It's not great as an eyeshadow but it has it's uses. Mauvie-Time I really like, it's blendable and decently pigmented and I'd definitely pick up a few more of the mattes.

The Gel Nail Polish, around €2
I was so disappointed by this one because I love the colour and the formula which is lovely. But it doesn't last 24 hours on me. Nail polish generally doesn't last long on me as I'm typing on a computer all day, and running around after a 4 year old all evening but I expect at least a couple of days people😂 It's such a gorgeous dusky rose/mauve colour and the application is really lovely - it doesn't drag and you only need two coats for perfect cover, but the chipping is real. Maybe if you tried it with a good undercoat it would last longer but I definitely won't be running out to buy more, which is such a shame as I really wanted to love this.

Glow to Go Illuminating Setting Spray, around €3
You know I love a luminous finish as I never stop banging on about it so when I saw this I had to have it. The idea is that you spritz it over make-up to give you a glowy finish, which sounds like everything I want in a bottle. I thought it could possibly be a cheap alternative to the Cover FX Luminous Setting Spray. Alas, it doesn't work this way for me - it's way too luminous and the nozzle spurts blobs of it onto your face. I tried it once and had spots of pink highlight all over my gob and it wasn't a good look. But I have been using this every day - just under make-up instead of over it. I moisturise, prime, spritz this all over my face, pat it in and let it dry before applying foundation and concealer and it gives a lovely glowy base for make-up.  Probably wouldn't buy it again, but I'm enjoying using it this way for the moment.

So that's all I got from Essence. Nail Polish and shimmer shadow aside, I'm quite impressed! I definitely recommend the Contouring Palette, Metal Shock Shadows and Matte Single Shadows - they are great quality for the price and these are the ones that I would definitely repurchase.

Cien Q10 Nightcream - reviewed by a skincare snob

Cien Q10 Night Cream  Cien is the beauty brand sold by budget supermarket Lidl. Over the last few years I've seen increasing amounts of people in the UK and Ireland raving about their products, from the moisturisers to the cleansers and hair products. I was suspicious of this raving as I felt that a lot of this was either bandwagoning after a few bloggers had said they liked the products, or really just based on the incredibly low price point - I love a bargain as much as anyone else, but I'm not going to convince myself I love a product because it's cheap and purse-friendly. My only prior experience with the brand was a body moisturiser which was quite honestly rubbish and not in the least moisturising as well as smelling extremely cheap, their conditioner which I love and still buy and their micellar water - which I dislike because I'm not a huge fan of them in general, and it stung my eyes and dried out my skin. I do however love the packaging - it's one of thos...

CloudCloth® - Sustainable, Recyclable Beauty

Hi Everyone! Let's talk cleansing cloths. In my book, cleansing cloths and flannels are a must-have. I know that a lot of people prefer to splash off their cleansers, I have tried this but for me cleansing revolves around a flannel, AM and PM. Aswell as ensuring that your skin is free of residual cleanser before you start into your routine, you can use your flannel to give your skin a light exfoliation - I would recommend using cotton for this, to be as gentle to your skin as possible These were kindly sent to me for review by CloudCloth®, and I've been using them for the last few weeks so I feel like I'm ready to give you my thoughts. Let me first give you some information about the company. CloudCloth® is based in the UK and was set up in 2017, in Manchester. Their ethos revolves around encouraging people to switch to reuseable and recyclable cleansing tools. From the site 'As a Brand, we want to give something back. We are supportive of our community of c...

Alpha H Daily Essential Vitamin Mist

I love a good mist. I'm obsessed with anything skincare-related in mist form, especially toners and my @klytiaparis Voile Lacte Moisturiser (reviewed here ). So I was seriously excited to try Alpha H's mist offering, I'm now on my second bottle so can tell you my thoughts! If you don't know of Alpha H you should - and here is a quick run-down. It's an Australian skincare brand founded by Michelle Doherty and has been around for over two decades. Their star product is undoubtedly their Liquid Gold Glycolic Acid toner, which I am a huge fan of and have been using for over a year with stellar results - if you are dry/dehydrated and have issues with texture or redness this could be a skin saver for you. Everyone needs an acid toner in their life and this is by far my favourite (I've tried Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner reviewed here and Pixi's Glow Tonic which, quite honestly, did nothing for me). Back to the mist! The packaging is quinte...
