Sarah Chapman Skinesis Overnight Facial

This is the second product that came in the Skinesis Merry and Bright Cracker, I've reviewed the first product, the Intense Hydrating Booster, here if you're interested😀 Overnight Facial This is an overnight treatment that contains Vitamin A (natural retinol), a stabilised form of Vitamin C (brightening), oils such as Melon and Baobob, and Coenzyme Q10 (an antioxidant and protector against free radicals - essentially it's a barrier between your skin and the world). It claims to reproduce the effects of the famous 'Skinesis' facial at home. From the description: 'Recreates the effects of a Skinesis facial overnight, leaving skin plump, smooth and rejuvenated with our signature Skinesis glow. Lines and uneven textures are smoothed, skin is brighter, firmer and more radiant, giving instant results to flat, dull and unbalanced skin.' The packaging is the same as the Instant Hydrating Booster - grey, sleek and stylish. The airless pump which a

Sarah Chapman Skinesis Intense Hydrating Booster

Skinesis is the signature skincare line created by the much-celebrated London Facialist Sarah Chapman. Launched in 2008, it has received numerous awards and is loved for it's advanced, botanical ingredients. Aesthetically the line is beautiful - everything comes packaged in modern yet simple silver grey, giving it an understated chic - it's a beauty Instagrammers dream. I received the Intense Hydrating Booster and Overnight Facial for Christmas and they are my first Skinesis products. As excited as I was I started using them right away, so I've now been using them regularly for a month and am ready to give you my thoughts. I was going to do both in one post, but I have a lot to say so I'm breaking it down into two posts. Intense Hydrating Booster If you're a regular reader of the blog, you know that I've been obsessing over hyaluronic acid lately - and so should you. Hyaluronic acid is a humectant, which means that it draws moisture to your skin and i

Klytia Paris Voile Lacte Facial Moisturizer and Beaute Privee

This was definitely an unexpected find, and a good one! I ordered this from Beauteprivee.fr a couple of weeks ago. I hadn't planned on ordering a new moisturizer as I have a couple to finish, but I saw it as part of an offer with Indie Lee's Rosehip Cleanser for €24.90 so I succumbed. A quick note on Beauteprivee - if you're a beauty-lover in France, you need to be subscribed to this website. It costs nothing to join, and once you're in you get some pretty great offers. Their clearance section (braderie) is one of my favourite places to browse on the internet. L'Oreal nail polishes for €1.50, Maybelline lipsticks €3.50, Sampar products for under a tenner. They also have a section where you can book a couple of hours in a spa/hair appointment/facial at certain institutes for a discounted price. The shipping is 5 or 6 euros with Chronopost but there is a great option of paying a lump-sum of €19 and getting free shipping for 12 months. I've had my hair don

How I think the beauty industry is going to change in 2018 and moving forward

As Sam Cooke crooned ' A change is gonna come ' and I feel like this change is imminent in the beauty industry. In this post I'm going to go through a few things that I think and hope will change in the industry, things that will continue on from and expand on some changes we've seen in 2017. Packaging Never before have people been so environmentally aware, and that is inevitably going to seep into the consciousness of beauty lovers and the brands that supply them. While in previous years I used to stare covetously at €60 prestige creams housed in beautiful glass and gold containers, this type of packaging is starting to look and feel out-dated and unnecessary. I'm a big fan of Clarins as you know and I've always enjoyed the simplicity of their packaging, it's like the atypical Parisian woman - sleek, no frills, functional, practical and chic. No ridiculous gold handles, no cut glass jars or unnecessary nonsense. Most of the bathroom and flat lay picture

Superfacialist Vit C+ Brighten Skin Renew Cleansing Oil

I love cleansing oils. Until about 18 months ago I was a firm fan of Bioderma Sebium H20 Micellar Water (the blue one) but then I switched to a balm or oil for removing make-up, and my skin is better for it. I can't exactly put my finger on it, but I think I'm less dehydrated and just a bit brighter and I don't see myself going back to it. While I may keep a bottle in my bathroom for emergencies/travelling, I just don't think you can beat an oil or balm as your first cleansing step. The BodyShop Camomile Oil Cleanser is a favourite, but I had been after the Superfacialist oil for ages. Living in France, we don't have Boots and every time I was in Ireland it was always sold out. So when my Mom included a bottle in the range of beauty products she gave me for Christmas I was delighted. First off, the packaging. It's great and very suited to the product, I have no issues. The Body Shop oil comes in a pump bottle, which sounds great except for the fact that it i

Ciara Daly - My Hero Brush Review

If you read this blog, or follow me on IG or Twitter you know that skin is my thing. From skincare to base products, for me how my skin looks is the most important. If I had to choose between amazing eye make-up, gorgeous glossy lips, IG worthy brows or a perfect base I'm picking the latter. When it comes to make-up I prefer a natural, light to medium luminous base. I'm not a huge fan of matte foundations, never have been. I don't like to look like I'm wearing tonnes of base make-up although obviously for a night out or an event I would go for a fuller base. I've tried the @hudabeauty Faux Filter and love it - it's full coverage with a natural, slightly luminous finish and is on my to buy list. But for every day I usually go for for something like my beloved Ponds BB Cream (which I have to get sent to me from abroad as it isn't available in Europe😠) either on it's own or mixed with something like Max Factor Lasting Performance or Vichy Teint Ideal to

MakeUp Forever Aqua Brow Kit Review

2016 and 2017 were, among other things, the years of The Brow. Brows were everywhere . I feel like every second picture on IG and the make-up groups I follow on FB was of brows. While I love big, natural brows (think Cara Delevinge) I don't have them. Mine are...meh. Not very thick, not particularly defined. There are no IG Brows here, and that's OK because sometimes it's a bit too much. For most of us we're stuck with the brows God gave us, and they ain't like what we see in the media or on the internet. My brows were a constant source of frustration for me for years. Like most people my age I over-plucked as a teenager and made a small problem worse. That coupled with a bad experience in a French Sephora where the lady scalped my brows has left me with only decent ones. It took me about two years to grow them back after the scalping, and even now they barely look related, never mind like sisters. My left brow is much slimmer than the right and I have to eve

My Christmas Beauty Haul!

Hi Everyone and Happy New Year! How were the holidays? Mine were busy, lots of driving and visiting and of COURSE a sick child😷 So to kick off 2018 I am going to go through the beauty bits I got for Christmas - and as you will see I did well...! There's quite a lot of different bits and I couldn't really decide how to organise them so I have decided to break them down into who bought me what. Parents My Mom is a beauty lover like me, and also a lover of fashion - she is ALWAYS well-dressed and put together. And my Dad is a hairdresser who owns his own salon in Ireland ( @frontpagehairwestport ). So when they do presents, they do them well . The 'big' present was (and this isn't make-up or skincare but I have to share it with you...!) a pair of...drumroll...Tom Ford sunglasses💓💓💓 I.Nearly.Died. I'm not often lost for words but this shut me up, if only for a couple of seconds😜 They are in the style B10 Donna and they are STUNNING. I've tried them
