Seavite Super Nutrient Comfort Cleanser

Seavite is a new brand to me, I'd never heard of them before coming across the range in a pharmacy/health food shop while in Ireland. I was immediately drawn to the cleanser (of course) and the fact that it's an Irish brand.

Seavite is a Galway-based skincare brand started in the 1980's by Patrick Mulrooney, with the goal of curing his daughters' eczema. He believed that the ocean was a source of healing and regenerative ingredients just waiting to be harnessed and saw how living near it seemed to soothe his daughters' skin.
From the Seavite site -

Through combining pure botanicals and nutrient-rich Irish seaweed extracts, Patrick formulated the Seavite range, which fast earned cult beauty status, thanks to its profound powers of skin transformation.
Daughters, Katherine, and Jane, both went on to become medical doctors, with Masters’ in Clinical Dermatology. They’ve dedicated their entire careers to healing sensitive skin conditions and solving ageing concerns. The now iconic Irish doctors have built on their father’s legacy, by reformulating the Seavite range, using the latest scientific developments and proven anti-ageing ingredients, while staying true to the brand’s core values of purity and healing.
Dr. Katherine and Dr. Jane Mulrooney use Seavite products on all patients in their renowned Dublin skin clinic. They believe that every skin type can benefit from the calming and regenerating magic of the Atlantic sea, captured in Seavite and fine-tuned by science.

I'm certainly not short of cleansers but I fell in love with the ethos of the brand, the fact that it's run by clinical dermatologists, the simple but beautiful packaging and of course, the fact that it's not only Irish but from Galway where my Dad's from.

Packaging - Sturdy white plastic, pump. Good for travel. My only issue (and it's a small one) is that the pump dispenses quite a small amount of product and I have to pump it 4-6 times to get my ideal amount of product.
Price - €25
Ingredients -  Aqua (water) Capylic/Capric Triglyceride, Sesamum indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Rosa Centifolia Flower Water,Glycerin, Dimenthicone, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerin Stearate, Peg – 20 Stearate, Peg -100 Stearate, Fucus Vesiculosus, Ascophyllum Nodosum, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Carbomer, Disodium EDTA, Triethanolamine, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxeyethanol, Geraniol, Citronellol
Scent - Almost none, slightly 'seaweed', not unpleasant
Texture - It's a cream cleanser, quite light and not sticky or greasy
Use - AM or second PM cleanse. It does a reasonable job of removing make-up, but I prefer to use it as a second cleanse and let my skin benefit from the ingredients rather than wash them down the sink.
For who? I would say anyone who doesn't have allergies to Sesame Oil, Dimethicone or Citronello - none of these bother me.
Verdict - I really like this cleanser. It's gentle and effective and leaves my skin feeling cleansed and soft, AM or PM. It reminds me of my beloved Alpha H Balancing Cleanser. I would be interested in trying some of their other products, notably the Super Nutrient Toning Sea Spray.
Availability - Seavite have a website that appears to ship worldwide and allows you to calculate shipping and tax. They also list their stockists in Ireland by county.

Have you tried anything from the Seavite range?
Thanks for reading!

CloudCloth® - Sustainable, Recyclable Beauty

Hi Everyone! Let's talk cleansing cloths. In my book, cleansing cloths and flannels are a must-have. I know that a lot of people prefer to splash off their cleansers, I have tried this but for me cleansing revolves around a flannel, AM and PM. Aswell as ensuring that your skin is free of residual cleanser before you start into your routine, you can use your flannel to give your skin a light exfoliation - I would recommend using cotton for this, to be as gentle to your skin as possible These were kindly sent to me for review by CloudCloth®, and I've been using them for the last few weeks so I feel like I'm ready to give you my thoughts. Let me first give you some information about the company. CloudCloth® is based in the UK and was set up in 2017, in Manchester. Their ethos revolves around encouraging people to switch to reuseable and recyclable cleansing tools. From the site 'As a Brand, we want to give something back. We are supportive of our community of c...

Alpha H Daily Essential Vitamin Mist

I love a good mist. I'm obsessed with anything skincare-related in mist form, especially toners and my @klytiaparis Voile Lacte Moisturiser (reviewed here ). So I was seriously excited to try Alpha H's mist offering, I'm now on my second bottle so can tell you my thoughts! If you don't know of Alpha H you should - and here is a quick run-down. It's an Australian skincare brand founded by Michelle Doherty and has been around for over two decades. Their star product is undoubtedly their Liquid Gold Glycolic Acid toner, which I am a huge fan of and have been using for over a year with stellar results - if you are dry/dehydrated and have issues with texture or redness this could be a skin saver for you. Everyone needs an acid toner in their life and this is by far my favourite (I've tried Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner reviewed here and Pixi's Glow Tonic which, quite honestly, did nothing for me). Back to the mist! The packaging is quinte...

Cien Q10 Nightcream - reviewed by a skincare snob

Cien Q10 Night Cream  Cien is the beauty brand sold by budget supermarket Lidl. Over the last few years I've seen increasing amounts of people in the UK and Ireland raving about their products, from the moisturisers to the cleansers and hair products. I was suspicious of this raving as I felt that a lot of this was either bandwagoning after a few bloggers had said they liked the products, or really just based on the incredibly low price point - I love a bargain as much as anyone else, but I'm not going to convince myself I love a product because it's cheap and purse-friendly. My only prior experience with the brand was a body moisturiser which was quite honestly rubbish and not in the least moisturising as well as smelling extremely cheap, their conditioner which I love and still buy and their micellar water - which I dislike because I'm not a huge fan of them in general, and it stung my eyes and dried out my skin. I do however love the packaging - it's one of thos...
