Oskia Micro Exfoliating Balm

Hi Everyone!

It's been a while since I've written a post - I travelled to Ireland with my daughter to visit my family and had a bit of a situation regarding luggage - they lost it on the way AND on the way back! - and it was a working holiday so even though there are a million things I've wanted to write about I haven't had the time to sit down and actually do it.

So tonight I was cleansing and exfoliating - both with an acid and manually - and I realized that I hadn't written a review on the Oskia Micro Exfoliating Balm that I bought from LookFantastic a couple of weeks ago. As this is an exfoliator it's not something that I use every day/night so after a couple of weeks I've probably used it four times, but I feel like I have a pretty definite opinion on it I LOVE IT.

So.
Oskia is a British brand based in London. I've had their Renaissance Gel Cleanser on my list for a while but because I already have so many cleansers and unfortunately am not made of money much to my disdain  I haven't bought it yet. I don't know a huge amount about the brand other than it's British, on the expensive side, and liked by quite a few good skincare bloggers. So when I saw this on sale for 40 euros I went for it.

*I have never ordered from LookFantastic before but the site is great, they have some lovely brands and the shipping was fast - 5 business days which is good as FeelUnique can take up to 7. Will definitely be ordering from them again.

I've said this a million times but I'm not someone that really goes in for manual exfoliators as I find them to be very harsh, and my skin is sensitive to scrubs - generally I get very red and stingy. I am a regular acid exfoliator but it's been a couple of months since I've even bought any kind of scrub. I think my main motivation in purchasing this was that I have been lusting over Oskia on social media for a good year now, and I was eager to try something.

The only negative I have about this product is the packaging - not the product packaging which is a gorgeous glass jar with a plastic screw top lid - but the box it came in which is actually 3 X the size of the jar, which is housed inside on a cardboard shelf. I'm not exactly an Eco Warrior and have to shame myself into recycling my wine bottles by looking at pictures of landfills online, but even for me it was a bit much.

So, the product.
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE.
This is a GORGEOUS exfoliator. When you open the jar you are faced with what is a firm, white balm. You only need a small amount, the size of the tip of your thumb. I recommend smoothing it between your palms and spreading directly onto clean, dry skin so that it doesnt ball and you don't lose half of it to the floor. Once one your face massage in large, upwards circles for a minute or so and rinse with a flannel - I rinse twice as the exfoliating particles are tiny. I've read that it smells like a spa, and it does, but...to me it smells like a Drumstick, which is a kind of lollipop for anyone that isn't Irish/British. It's sweet, but also spa-like if that makes sense.
After usage I found that my skin was slightly red but not destroyed like it was after using GlamGlow but SO SO SMOOTH. Seriously, the effect reminded me of how my skin feels after using Tata Harper Resurfacing mask, so I was pretty impressed. Even with my sensitive skin I didn't experience any irritation.

The jar contains 50ml of product which really isn't a lot, but bearing in mind that this isn't a daily use product (for me once a week, if that) it will still last you a decent amount of time - also, you really don't need a lot as it spreads easily.

Overall I absolutely recommend this if you are in the market for a great manual exfoliant, I don't think you will regret it!
You can find Oskia Microexfoliation Balm at

LookFantastic.fr 57 Euros (It's now on sale for 40!)
BeautBay stock it for 67 Euros, but that's just insane. Cop on BeautyBay you're better than that

CloudCloth® - Sustainable, Recyclable Beauty

Hi Everyone! Let's talk cleansing cloths. In my book, cleansing cloths and flannels are a must-have. I know that a lot of people prefer to splash off their cleansers, I have tried this but for me cleansing revolves around a flannel, AM and PM. Aswell as ensuring that your skin is free of residual cleanser before you start into your routine, you can use your flannel to give your skin a light exfoliation - I would recommend using cotton for this, to be as gentle to your skin as possible These were kindly sent to me for review by CloudCloth®, and I've been using them for the last few weeks so I feel like I'm ready to give you my thoughts. Let me first give you some information about the company. CloudCloth® is based in the UK and was set up in 2017, in Manchester. Their ethos revolves around encouraging people to switch to reuseable and recyclable cleansing tools. From the site 'As a Brand, we want to give something back. We are supportive of our community of c...

Alpha H Daily Essential Vitamin Mist

I love a good mist. I'm obsessed with anything skincare-related in mist form, especially toners and my @klytiaparis Voile Lacte Moisturiser (reviewed here ). So I was seriously excited to try Alpha H's mist offering, I'm now on my second bottle so can tell you my thoughts! If you don't know of Alpha H you should - and here is a quick run-down. It's an Australian skincare brand founded by Michelle Doherty and has been around for over two decades. Their star product is undoubtedly their Liquid Gold Glycolic Acid toner, which I am a huge fan of and have been using for over a year with stellar results - if you are dry/dehydrated and have issues with texture or redness this could be a skin saver for you. Everyone needs an acid toner in their life and this is by far my favourite (I've tried Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner reviewed here and Pixi's Glow Tonic which, quite honestly, did nothing for me). Back to the mist! The packaging is quinte...

New CID Cosmetics i-glow Shimmer Powders in Coral Crush and Sirocco

If you watch my Instagram stories you know that I originally ordered Coral Crush after I had seen Caroline Hirons say how much she loved it on her stories. After having Coral Crush for a few weeks I picked up another I-glow in Sirocco, the brush that is designed for use with them and a cream eyeshadow. In this post I'll review the two I-glows. On the  New CID Cosmetics website the I-glows are described as ' an innovative and luxurious formula of  baked pigments...to bring a radiance to the skin for a lit from within look ' Coral Crush Described as a ' luminous peachy coral blush with soft gold sparkle suitable for all skin types '. This is a really stunning product, both visually and on the skin. It comes housed in a sturdy white compact with an inside mirror. Although the compact is really pretty and chic, white probably isn't the best colour for it - mine is already covered in fingerprints...! Not a huge issue, but I'm a bit of a neat freak when it...
