Oskia Micro Exfoliating Balm

Hi Everyone! It's been a while since I've written a post - I travelled to Ireland with my daughter to visit my family and had a bit of a situation regarding luggage - they lost it on the way AND on the way back! - and it was a working holiday so even though there are a million things I've wanted to write about I haven't had the time to sit down and actually do it. So tonight I was cleansing and exfoliating - both with an acid and manually - and I realized that I hadn't written a review on the Oskia Micro Exfoliating Balm that I bought from LookFantastic a couple of weeks ago. As this is an exfoliator it's not something that I use every day/night so after a couple of weeks I've probably used it four times, but I feel like I have a pretty definite opinion on it I LOVE IT. So. Oskia is a British brand based in London. I've had their Renaissance Gel Cleanser on my list for a while but because I already have so many cleansers and unfortunately

Favourite Make-up Brushes

Hi Everyone! Today I wanted to talk about my make-up brush collection. It's only in the last couple of years that I really got into make-up brushes, before that I only had cheap ones bought from Amazon or cheaper brands but now I have a nice little collection, and they make a huge difference to make-up application. I used to tell myself that good brushes were surplus to requirements as I didn't really want to spend money on them, but now I'm of the opinion that money spent on good brushes is money well spent - they change the way your make-up looks and if you look after them will last you a long time. Eyes My eye brushes are the most inexpensive. At the moment I have a small collection of Zoeva brushes, that were ordered from their German-based site and some that were given to me as a gift by my best friend. Zoeva brushes are on the more inexpensive side, but are not extremely cheap - a single eye brush costs around 10 Euros and a set of eye brushes - I have the Clas

Facial Mists and a rant

Hi Everyone! Todays post was supposed to be about Facial Mists - and it is - but it's also a bit of a rant.   I always have at least one facial mist in my bathroom/fridge. Mists range from very inexpensive - think rosewater - to the ludicrously expensive - think Ozmorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist (which I really want).  At the moment I have two - Botanics Rosewater Spray (Boots, 6 Euros) and Pur Cosmetics Hydrate and Set (BeautyBay, 16 Euros).  Honestly the Pur Cosmetics is my favourite, but I would also repurchase the Botanics as it is a great budget spray. I use facial sprays all the time . In between skincare steps I spray, and also throughout the day to stay hydrated, give a bit of a glow, keep make-up from looking cakey and to stay cool in the hot months.    Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz * 100% organic * Contains - Water, Alcohol Denat (they note that this contains natural ingredients. It's common in    skincare items, but people who

Colourpop! Worth the money?

Colourpop! Worth the money? Let's talk about Colourpop - the brand that's been taking over social media over the last couple of years. Colourpop is an American brand, based in Los Angeles - this is also where they make Kylie Jenners their products. Founded in 2014, they started with liquid lipsticks and have now branched out to eyeshadows and pigments, bronzers, highlighters, lipsticks, glosses and eyeliners. They have collaborated with a number of well-known Beauty gurus such as Kathleen Lights and, inexplicably, an ex-girlfriend of Chris Brown. (I have no idea, apparently she's also an actress). That aside, the brand has become extremly famous for, among other things, their extremely low prices. We're talking 6 dollars for a liquid lipstick, 5 dollars for an eyeshadow or liner - extremly low. In the US they offer free shipping with a spend of 30 dollars, internationally with a spend of 50 dollars. While you can get quite a lot for 50 dollars, if

Cleansing for Beginners - and Budget recommendations

Cleansing for Beginners - Budget Recommendations Hi Everyone! Recently a friend asked me if I would do a guide to cleansing for beginners with some budget friendly recommendations so here we go! Cleansing, in my opinion, is the cornerstone of good skincare. There is very little point in using good skincare products if you are not giving them a clean base to work on. While I myself am a little bougee with my personal cleanser choices, there are a wealth of budget-friendly options out there and after some research I've come up with a list of the best - I have used most of these at some point, or have heard good things about them. I spent years using less expensive products, and still do - but as a die-hard skincare junkie I feel like I've earned the points to move onto more expensive products and to explore more options. However, this is not to say that you should spend more than sensible amounts on cleansers. Cleansing is like brushing your teeth - twice a day, e

K-Beauty - an Intro!

K-Beauty - an Intro! Asian beauty has hit the Western world hard and fast over the last couple of years, to the point where we now see Western beauty giants like Estée Lauder , Dior and Givenchy releasing products inspired by what we have seen coming out of the East - notably South Korea. Cushion compacts, sheet masks, essences, sleeping packs, brightening masks - many of these can now be found on the shelves of your local Sephora/Ulta/SuperDrug/Boots - and many made by Western brands. As someone who fell hook, line and sinker in love with K Beauty 5 years ago before it hit the mainstream market in Europe and the US, I wanted to talk today about why you should think about trying it out, if you haven't already. Korean beauty is attractive not only because of the comparably low prices of many brands (think 10 dollars for a BB Cream - although this depends heavily on where you buy from as many Western retailers do tend to jack up the price, looking at you Cult Beauty!
